Motorized Blind Repair FAQs

How much does motorized blind repair cost in San Diego?

Remote re-pairing starts at $50. Limit resets and calibration are $50–$100 per shade. Battery pack replacements run $30–$80. Motor replacement—the most common major repair—is $150–$350 depending on the brand. We always diagnose before quoting, so you know the price before we start.

Can you fix my Somfy motorized shades?

Yes. Somfy RTS and RS485 are our most frequently repaired systems. We re-pair Telis, Situo, and Chronis remotes; reset upper/lower limits; replace Sonesse, RS100, and Ilmo motors; and reconnect Somfy TaHoma and myLink smart home bridges.

My Hunter Douglas PowerView shades stopped working — can you help?

Absolutely. We service PowerView Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 (PowerView Motorization & Automation). Common fixes include replacing PowerView batteries, re-pairing Pebble remotes, restoring Hub connectivity, and replacing failed motors. We carry PowerView-compatible parts.

My motorized shade remote won't pair — how do you fix it?

Remote pairing is one of our most frequent repairs. We use the motor's built-in programming mode to re-sync the remote channel. For multi-channel systems, we reprogram each channel individually. Most re-pairings take under 30 minutes on-site.

My shades lost their limits after a power outage. What now?

A power outage or dead battery can clear a motor's memory, causing shades to run past their set positions. We reprogram both the upper and lower limits using the motor's configuration sequence. We also verify all remotes and smart home integrations are still connected.

Can you fix motorized shades that won't connect to Alexa or Google Home?

Yes. We troubleshoot the full stack: motor-to-hub pairing, hub-to-Wi-Fi connection, and cloud account linking. We've resolved integration issues for Somfy TaHoma, Hunter Douglas PowerView Hub, Lutron SmartBridge, and Rollease Pulse 2. In most cases the fix is a hub reset and re-discovery, not hardware replacement.

How do I know if my motorized shade motor is actually bad?

Signs of a failing motor: shade moves very slowly, stops mid-travel, makes grinding or clicking noises, or doesn't respond from any control (remote, app, voice). We test motors on-site before recommending replacement—so you never pay for a new motor when a $50 re-pair would fix it.

Can you fix motorized blinds from brands you didn't install?

Yes. We repair all brands regardless of who installed them. Bring us your existing system—Somfy, Lutron, Hunter Douglas, Rollease Acmeda, Blind Automation, or a generic import motor—and we'll diagnose it. We repair discontinued systems too.

Do you repair Lutron motorized shades?

Yes. We service Lutron Sivoia QS, Lutron Sheer, and Lutron Triathlon motors. We re-pair Pico remotes, reconnect Lutron SmartBridge and RadioRA bridges, and replace failed Lutron motors with OEM or compatible units.

How long does a motorized shade repair take?

Most repairs — remote pairing, limit resets, battery replacement, smart home reconnection — are completed in the same visit, typically 30–90 minutes. Motor replacements that require ordering parts take 3–5 business days. We give you a timeline estimate before leaving.
